Some of you may of noticed that I have been away for a while. Recently I returned to my first passion in life, The Trucking Industry. After being out of the loop for 10 years I have went back to being an OTR driver. For those of you who are not familiar with this term it means Over The Road, Long Haul, or Coast to Coast.
You see us on the road every day pushing the big rigs up and down the interstate, and highways of this great nation, trying to get our freight where it needs to go, on time.
Most of you see us as and obstacle. The truck up ahead of you is just something that is in your way, slowing you down. You must get ahead of it before the construction zone. Get around it before the red light, even knowing you are going to have to stop, just to pull back in front of the driver and hit your brakes. Then you look in the rearview mirror and wonder why the truck stopped so close to you. You speed up when you see a truck in the right lane with it’s blinker on, ( you know what that is, it’s the little handle on the left side of your steering column, try using it sometimes it does wonders letting other drivers know you want to change lanes or turn), only to be surprised when the truck moves into the left lane to give the State Trooper some room to get out of their vehicle, or the broke down car that just opened their door without looking to see what was coming up beside them. That truck driver is not trying to hold you up, slow you down, or torment you. We are just trying to get us and you down the road safely.
When I left the industry Truck Driving was a noble profession to be in, and for the most part still is. As a general rule, we are courteous, conscience drivers, just out making a living, lending a helping hand when we could, trying to do our job and get back home safely to our families. Now I find, that there are a lot of steering wheel holders, and not so many truck drivers left. </summary>

Some of you may of noticed that I have been away for a while. Recently I returned to my first passion in life, The Trucking Industry. After being out of the loop for 10 years I have went back to being an OTR driver. For those of you who are not familiar with this term it means Over The Road, Long Haul, or Coast to Coast.
You see us on the road every day pushing the big rigs up and down the interstate, and highways of this great nation, trying to get our freight where it needs to go, on time.
Most of you see us as and obstacle. The truck up ahead of you is just something that is in your way, slowing you down. You must get ahead of it before the construction zone.
