Bloomberg L.P. is a financial software, news, and data company. The company was founded by Michael Bloomberg (current Mayor of New York City) with the help of Thomas Secunda, and other partners (including Bloomberg's former coworkers from Salomon Brothers) in 1981 with the help of a 20% ownership investment by Merrill Lynch.
