Do refurbished cameras from canon generally work?

hello, i am considering buying a canon camera that has been refurbished and was wondering if these cameras are generally in good working conditions after being refurbished. please share your own experiences with refurbs if you have any. thanks I think that refurbished cameras should be fine.
