Events can be face-face but more and more organizations are exploring virtual events using technology like Second Life.

Full-time corporate event planners plan, organize and execute a variety of events including marketing events such as trade shows, client apperciation events, and employee events. Independent or freelance event planners perform the same function but tend to work on project basis.
