ELECTRIC UTILITIES
Electric utilities include privately owned or government run organizations that are involved in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electric power to consumers within a competitive market. Wholesale electricity markets are also considered to be electric utilities. These organizations act as brokers, buying and selling electricity and as such tend not to own or operate production, transmission, or distribution facilities.”
