ELI AND EDYTHE BROAD FOUNDATION

The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation was established to advance education, science, and the arts. In 2008, the SunAmerica and KB Home founder and his wife made a $400 million commitment to endow the Cambridge, Mass.-based Broad Institute, making permanent a leading genomics and biomedical research institute. Together with The Broad Art Foundation, the couple’s charitable foundations represent assets of $2.5 billion. The Broads were named to BusinessWeek's 2008 list of the 50 Top American Givers.
