Separate but not necessary equal: the work-life “balance” myth

Some 15 months ago, I was at a company “team building” function. It was the usual corporate attempt to interject a large group of co-workers into a social setting, during which alcohol usual serves as either an essential crutch or the lone motivation to not sneak out the backdoor. It’s really about personal perspective. But either way, no one really wants to be there.
