Pepsi Bottling to fire 3,150

Pepsi Bottling Group Inc. said on Tuesday it will cut 2,200 jobs in Mexico and close three bottling plants and 30 distribution centers here as part of a broader cost-cutting plan.

Mexico represents close to 70 percent of the planned cutbacks, in large part because Pepsi´s water business here performed below the company´s expectations, Pepsi said.
