ANDREA MASON

I have more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry. I have focused my career on application of new technologies for the realization of new services and systems to face the challenges of cost containment in healthcare, the aging of the population, the management of chronic patients and the new pathologies related to lifestyle. I define and coordinate the realization of technology platforms using also service design tools, establishing new relationships among the person and her/his health and well-being status and physicians.
Currently I am Director of Strategy and Innovation and CTO of Telbios Spa, an important telemedicine service provider in Italy. Astrophysicist by training, I founded Telbios in 1996 as a joint venture between Scientific Institute Hospital San Raffaele and Alenia Aerospazio – Space Division. The know-how developed from the proof-of-concept ‘phase’ was essential for the incorporation of Telbios as Service Company in 2001, with the aim and ambitions to play and important role in the field of innovation in healthcare.
A good knowledge of the healthcare market, the interactions with R&D, Medical, Regulatory, and Operations to refine insights toward market-prioritized needs, a capability to capture the attention of a major industry with access to the consumer market, the contribution to build a commercial network in a no pre-existing market segment, the introduction of motivating and gratifying technologies through the design of new paradigms and user interfaces for the entire Telbios’ ecosystem are the key features of my professional experience. I have worked and lived in USA, exposed to different industries (healthcare, biomedical, ICT, telecommunications) with their peculiar business models.
