CHRISTOPHER PORTO

Christopher Porto contributes to various client projects focused on developing corporate greenhouse gas inventories, product lifecycle assessments, emission reduction strategies, and public disclosure reports. Christopher is helping organizations to integrate environmental thinking into their corporate strategies so that they can stay abreast of the latest climate and energy policies and take advantage of the opportunities presented in a low-carbon economy.

While completing his undergraduate degree from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech University, Christopher held an executive leadership position with the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity that enabled him to take part in the national organization’s development programs at the regional, national, and global levels. During his junior year, he spent a semester attending Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan where he studied international business and partook in various cultural activities. This term was followed by him participating in the Virginia Tech University “Management in East Asia” summer study-abroad program that guided students throughout Japan and South Korea completing course work in international management with a concentration on global sustainability and corporate social responsibility. On his arrival back to the United States, Christopher was hired to co-lead the Japan portion of the same program the following year after his graduation. Returning to Japan once again provided him an opportunity to gain international work experience teaching English, develop greater fluency in Japanese and train in the martial art of Aikido.
