DEXTER (TIFF) ROBERTS
I am the Asia News Editor and China Bureau Chief for BusinessWeek based in Beijing. I started reporting for BusinessWeek in China in 1995 and became Beijing bureau chief in 1998. In more than a decade reporting from China, I have covered everything from politics and trade, to labor, energy, and autos. Major journalism awards include Overseas Press Club awards, the Sidney Hillman Foundation prize, Human Rights Press awards, and Society of Publishers in Asia editorial excellence awards.
I got my BA in political science from Stanford University, where I was a National Merit Scholar, and a master of international affairs focusing on China and journalism from Columbia University. I studied Chinese at Stanford and at National Taiwan Normal University's Mandarin Training Center in Taipei. I am from Missoula, Mont.
