GORDON PERCHTHOLD
Do you consistently obtain the maximum business results from your consultants?
Whether you are using strategy, process, or technology consultants on your critical strategic or operational initiatives, it is probable that you are not – resulting in lost value to your business.
Gordon Perchthold has been on both the seller (15 years as consultant, Partner and Managing Partner in global consulting firms) and buyer side (on behalf of multinational companies) of the consulting services equation.
+ He is familiar with the internal constraints of multinational companies that conspire against them effectively selecting and managing consultants.
+ He also knows how the structure and motivation of the consulting business has changed over the past two decades; the false sense of security the partners engender with the executives of the buyer organizations that undermine objectivity and negotiating position; and the approaches consultants use to maximize revenues from clients without delivering to their full potential.
Consultants have the potential to help companies achieve performance levels that could not be realized without them. However, there are two components to value delivery equation:
1. How well the organization using consultants proactively manages the consultants;
2. To what extent the consultants deliver full capability in a mutually beneficial commercial relationship.
Gordon is a co-founder of The RFP Company, a boutique consulting firm that enables clients to make strategic choices. Over his 25 year career, Gordon has assisted bank and insurance clients across Asia, Australia, Canada, Mexico, South Africa and the United States.
Our goal is to promote debate within the client and consulting industry about improving the way consultants are used so that businesses and governments obtain maximum value from the use of consultant services.
This is why we wrote the book: Extract Value From Consultants.
