At Brightcove, the leading online video platform, as a member of the Product Marketing group, I made the overall business strategy and marketing recommendations for products - including market targeting and segmentation, pricing, positioning, broad market requirements, and go to market strategy. While there I also gained experience working on new strategic ventures, including a video live streaming business plan.
At Simon & Schuster I helped devise and implement publishing campaigns for many high profile projects including New York Times bestsellers by Hillary Clinton, Bob Woodward, David McCullough, and Mary Higgins Clark. As a junior editor I negotiated contracts, acquired, edited and managed new hardcover titles. Given responsibility for supervising Simon & Schuster Paperbacks, I conducted market research and spearheaded the reprint and reissue of many revised backlist paperback books. I worked in and led small and large teams in a hectic environment where success depends on creativity, management of internal and external relationships, and the ability to apply sound business judgment in an often unpredictable media landscape.
