JOHN W RYAN

Marketing and Advertising, Greater New York City Area

Author, speaker and executive. Board-level, C-level, turnaround marketing executive with a decade of sales management experience that delivers a unique perspective. Author of the 2011 book, "Buyer Steps", A 21st Century Marketing Approach Based on the B2B Buyer's Point of View.

At the age of 26, managed NA Distribution (140% of quota) for Software Publishing Corporation (sales + marketing), one of the largest software companies in the world at the time that included titles such as Harvard Graphics and the PFS series. At Central Point Software, led the turnaround of a flailing Anti-Virus business unit that resulted in 60% revenue growth and the highest profit margins in the company within one year. At Tivoli, (purchased by IBM for $750m while I was there) as the VP of Marketing Communications, I ran global marketing creative, communications and campaigns that contributed to over 300% revenue growth in one year. At WebTrends, as Director, we went public and eventually sold the company to NetIQ for over $1 billion.

I have helped many companies including startups gain focus, build marketing strategies and execute. I just authored a book called Buyer Steps in 2011 which offers a unique approach to be more effective for B2B marketing in the 21st century.
