NORB VONNEGUT
I've enjoyed a rewarding career in private wealth management—clarifying risk profiles, structuring investment guidelines, and developing portfolio strategies. These investment decisions, what to buy and sell, are only first steps in today's world of money management. I've also counseled families on matters ranging from taxes to derivatives, outlined their philanthropic choices, and worked with top lawyers and financial professionals to implement estate plans.
My professional experience includes both the "buy" and "sell" sides. I've been a Managing Director with a wealth-management boutique based in New York City. I've also worked for Morgan Stanley, Paine Webber, and Kidder, Peabody. After graduating from Harvard College, I began my financial career with Citicorp in the Philippines and with Chase Manhattan in Australia. From Melbourne, I returned to Boston to complete my MBA at Harvard Business School.
Transparency on Wall Street—or lack thereof—is a topic I've explored for years. I've frequently found myself defending clients from the potential pitfalls of financial opportunities without transparency. That's why I wrote Top Producer, a novel about Wall Street hijinks gone fatal. Pure fiction. Definitely hyperbolic. But a fun way to explore activities and situations that challenge my sense of right and wrong. St. Martin's Press will publish Top Producer in September 2009.
Many thanks for visiting.
