Career Highlights

Saved a “Bleeding” Division – I was a key member of the Raytheon Six Sigma team responsible for analyzing the business and quickly developing an effective improvement plan. He lead the team in the worst area – composites – and reduced the defective rate from 100% to 25%, effectively stopping the “bleeding” within the division.

Created Step Function Solutions to Customer Needs – I developed and facilitated a process around Design for Six Sigma that immersed the design teams in a creative environment, which facilitated the development of novel, non linear, and relevant solutions to warfigther needs that lead to a 95% design success rate. Each contract was worth several millions of dollars.

Saving a Sole Source Defense Industry Supplier from Bankruptcy – I lead a Six Sigma team that was responsible for analyzing a key defense industry and developing an effective improvement plan He lead the team in addressing their worst area, Pellet manufacturing and, using process characterization, reduced the press set-up time by 99% (from 12 hours to 15mins). This significant improvement began a series of successes, resulting in the company turning a profit.

Improving a Green Belt Program to Return Results – I was responsible for designing and implementing a results-based Green Belt program, which improved the certification rate from less than 50% to 75% (3000 Certified Green Belts). This step has returned over $20M annually to the company.

Blending High Tech with High Rate – I developed a highly effective minimal inspection Quality System for a start-up subsidiary, combining high tech products and high-rate manufacturing lines. The results:
