<description><![CDATA[Ray Boyer is a communications consultant working with clients in the private and nonprofit sectors. He specializes in communications planning, with particular skill in media relations. For eight years he was head of public affairs for Williams College, one of the nation’s finest liberal arts colleges, followed by four years as assistant dean for external relations at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. From 1991 through 2004 Ray was head of public affairs for the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, leaving to set up his own firm, Boyer Media. In addition to his current work with foundations on communications planning, he designed and implemented the public relations strategy for the Chicago Innovation Awards, the Chicago region’s major annual recognition of innovative new products and services. Recent work also includes projects to advance the improvement of public education and understanding of mental health. He is a media relations representative for Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Business Administration.]]></description>
