Mr. Arul joins Itron Inc. as a Senior Business Consultant. Prior to this stint, he was a Lead Systems Engineer at Ventyx's Professional Services Organization unit under Retail Energy and Market Operations Division. He has over 11 years of implementation experience in the areas of Smart Grid & Demand Response, Meter Data Management (MDM), Retail Access, Customer Choice, and Wholesale Transmission Markets. His primary focus has been in performing implementations of Ventyx's Retail and Market Operations solutions for Electric Utilities including IOUs and Electric Cooperatives by offering pre-sales support, gathering business requirements and translating them into technical implementation specifications.

Mr. Arul's business domain expertise lay in the areas of Demand Response and Smart Grid; Retail Load Forecasting; Backcasting; Account Enrolments for Residential, Small & Medium Commercial, and Large Commercial & Industrial customers; Time-of-Use and Load Profiling; Pricing and Settlement; Complex Billing; Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Security Issues; Real-time Interfacing with ERP systems like SAP and SAP for Utilities.

Mr. Arul is an Interface specialist and his technical expertise is diversified in the areas of Oracle Database (SQL, PL/SQL, and Java Stored Procedures); Javascript, PHP, ASP and Perl scripting; Data access issues through Microsoft ADO, OLEDB, ODBC and JDBC; Web Services and interfacing with Enterprise Service Bus (ESB); XML technologies,.

Mr. Arul has worked with many of the large Utilities within US, Canada, and Europe, including Exelon, Xcel Energy, and PSE&G. He has also worked within the ISO/RTO markets of PJM, AESO and IESO in Canada and SEM in Ireland.

Mr. Arul also has 2 years of Energy Efficiency, Waste Minimization, and Productivity Enhancement experience in performing Energy Assessments (Audits) for small and medium scaled industries.
