For a majority of my career, I held regional and national director level positions at Fortune 1000 service provider companies, primarily in the health care industry, while reporting to a Chief Operations Officer or Senior Vice President.
Through experience with early developers of health care technology platforms (such as electronic medical records and clinical outcomes software), and as an entrepreneur working with Web applications, I gravitated toward IT leadership and coaching roles.
In 2007, I became a Scrum Master/IT Project Manager to over 30 programmers, coders, graphic artists located all over the world. My teams primarily developed immersive education projects for esteemed higher education institutions. Several of our clients received national media coverage, recognition for innovation in instructional design, and international awards for behavioral research studies.
Our crowning achievement was the development of the grant-funded project “Innovations in Engineering Education, Curriculum and Infrastructure” (IEECI), which was awarded to Loyola Marymount University/LA by the National Science Foundation.
To formalize my Agile knowledge base, I became both a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) through Scrum Alliance in 2011. I have experience using Scrum and Kanban, as well as TDD, XP and Waterfall methodologies.
As a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Project Manager and Product Owner, I am available to work on contract or direct hire basis. While I prefer to remain in Kentucky, I am open to remote locations for contract assignments and will consider the southeast, mid-Atlantic or northeastern U.S.
Accustomed to managing distributed software or platform development teams as a business owner, employee and contractor, I am also effective working from a home-office.
WHAT IS SCRUM (AGILE)?
Scrum is an Agile software development methodology that decreases defects while increasing team productivity and business value.
