STEVE SCHWARTZ

Unitus is an international nonprofit working to reduce global poverty by expanding the reach of high impact microfinance institutions in areas where they are needed most. Not a traditional nonprofit, Unitus brings executive expertise from banking, technology and corporate consulting backgrounds to employ market driven solutions to the problem of financial inclusion and the health, education, gender discrimination and overall hopelessness problems it spawns.

Prior to joining Unitus, I held engagements in New York and Geneva, Switzerland. I also completed a two year tour with the Peace Corps in the West African republic of Benin where I worked with local groups on microfinance and other financial inclusion initiatives. I hold a dual concentration MA in International Relations and International Communications from Boston University and a BA in History from the University of Western Ontario.
