<description><![CDATA[Louis Lavelle is the editor at BusinessWeek magazine who oversees the magazine's rankings of MBA programs (full-time, part-time, executive), non-degree executive education programs, undergraduate business programs, and top employers for new college grads (Best Places to Launch a Career). He was instrumental in helping BusinessWeek win National Magazine Awards in 2007 and 2008, and is the author of &quot;Fast Track: The Best B-Schools&quot;(McGraw Hill, 2008). Before coming to BusinessWeek, he worked for newspapers in Florida, NY, and NJ. In 1998, while a reporter for the Record (Hackensack, NJ) he won the New Jersey Press Assn.'s Award for Business and Economic Writing. At the Tampa Tribune, his investigative work led to the resignation of a state legislator on ethics charges, the prosecution of two murderers, and various reforms. Lavelle has a bachelor's degree from Montclair State University in New Jersey and a master's from New York University. He lives in Brooklyn.]]></description>
