Self-published design mag: the new model?

The community-run design blog Curbly may have figured out a way to outsmart the biggest publishing companies. Last month, they released their first publication called Make It Modern. The book/magazine hybrid showcases DIY projects with step-by-step instructions on how to make mid-century modern furniture and accessories for the home.
