Steel/metals distributor Russel Metals moves to contain costs

Russel Metals announced late February 23 a series of cost containment measures aimed at substantially reducing annual operating expenses in the current economic environment. Among them, about 500 employees -- from peak levels of
3,000 workers -- will be shaved from the workforce by the end of Q1, and its board members are taking a 10% pay cut.
