The T. Boone Pickens Foundation pursues a philanthropic mission established by Pickens, who started the foundation in 2006. The billionaire oilman gave $100 million to his alma mater, Oklahoma State University, in 2008, complementing his 2005 gift of $165 million to OSU’s sports programs, marking the single largest gift for athletics in NCAA history.
