UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS
Unified Communications (UC) ties together voice, video, and data in such a way that users have always-available access across different devices. Some of the key goals of UC are a single number which routes calls to a current device or phone, the ability to switch quickly between media (IM to voice, email to IM), using the media that's appropriate to device capabilities (text to speech, or speech to text), and intelligent routing of calls based on user status or location.
