Vodafone, short for voice data fone, has more than 200 million customers and has operations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Asia Pacific, and the U.S. Most of Vodafone’s business is in Europe, and it is the wireless leader in the UK and Germany. The company also holds a 45% state in Verizon Wireless, the No. 2 U.S. provider.
